Oh Hey December!

Tis the season to be jolly fa la la la la la la la ♪♪♫♪

 Oh Hey! Lemme give you five reasons why I love December ^_^

 1. People give gifts.


We give and we expect something in return (hahahaha). Kidding aside, every Christmas season people would flock the shopping malls and get busy buying something for someone.

For some this may be a sort of an obligation or a necessity but on a lighter side, this act reminds people that giving is one sure way to show how we value the people around us.

2. People share food.


Weeeeeeehhhhhhh!!! Food! Food! Food! Reportedly, people gain weight during Christmas season. But, that's not something alarming to me (hihi) Oh how I love what my mama prepares on the table.

Also, we get to share food (especially dessert) with neighbors. OMG! The fridge is always full! And it's just sooooo awesome! hahahahahaha

3. People spend time.


What I love about our tradition is our great value for our family. Christmas is the best manifestation for it. Filipinos would make sure to block their scheds for work during the holidays just to have it spent with families. 

I pray that this tradition would still be passed on to more generations. ☺

 4. People show love.


Yes! Yes! Yes! I've been seeing Christmas parties being held especially for the less fortunate. To me, this is really a good way to show our love for our neighbors. When you see smiles of young kids, your heart can't help but melt in joy.

See? Love is everywhere during Christmas :)

 5. People are reminded of Jesus.


Above all, Christmas reminds people of the greatest gift that our Father in Heaven has given us, Jesus. 

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him 
shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

Like any other gift, our part is to receive and accept Jesus. How? We just have to simply believe that He alone is our Lord and Savior. This is the very essence why we celebrate Christmas ♥♥♥

Filipino Stores and Restaurants in Tokyo

For somebody who craves for Filipino food and snacks from time to time, here are the stores I frequent to. I can only share a limited perspective but solely based on my experiences. Read on! Filipino Stores 1. Asia Yaosho (Kabukicho, Shinjuku)  While they mostly have Filipino products, they also sell Thai goods. I think their prices are a little lower than the other Filipino stores I've tried. GGPEI First Anniversary (Team Mary)

For almost eight months now, I have worked as an online ESL teacher to Japanese. And just recently, the company I am currently connected with had its first anniversary (wohooooo!!!) It feels overwhelming to be part of this celebration. The firsts are always historical. As part of the event, the company which has more than a hundred employees decided to have this Team Dance and Halloween Costume Design Competitions. Our team, Team Mary , won 3rd place and 2nd place respectively. We are CHAMPIONS! FYI: We are the only team (out of eight teams ehems ehems) to win in both categories. Lemme repeat, WE ARE CHAMPIONS! This is my blog so I'm a little biased. What I loved about the prep and practice days was that I get to know the people I am working with deeper. And because I have all the right to be biased because I repeat, this is my blog lemme describe my team mates and what I discovered about them! hahahaha However, I can only list here those who I spent more time with. hehehe....

DPE at Cebu Normal University

Though I haven't gotten that energy back yet, I'm feeling gay to tell you of what I've gone through the five-month DPE studies at CNU. I am never the ideal student (hahaha) so forgive me if I can only tell you the things based on what I've experienced. So, I was enrolled in 6 subjects which is equivalent to 18 units. To graduate or I mean finish the program you need to get a total of 33 units for one school year. But I only wanted to qualify for the Licensure Exam so I only complied with the 18 education units as required by the Department of Education. My courses were Child and Adolescent Development, Educational Technology, The Teaching Profession, Assessment of Student Learning, Curriculum Development, and Principles of Teaching.
