I get so curious seeing girls (rarely boys) of my age (feeling like a teener) in one corner scrolling their phone screens, then they smile a bit, they don't look around, they're focus, seems like a tag on their forehead writes "Busy, don't disturb". But oh well, they're not just on one corner! They may be beside you inside a jeep, at the study lounge, at a bench adjacent to you in a park, or they could be that classmate sitting right next to you, and sometimes they're even inside the library. What's going on!?
Streeessseeedddd!!! a friend sighed. "Le'me use the computer! I'll do wattpad!" she added. "What the heck are you talkin' about?" I exclaimed. "Nah! wattpad! cute stories, love stories...." and she continued blabbing. Now I get it! It's the site where one can download ebooks straight to their phones.
I browsed it... Saw familiar title of stories. I guess I don't fit with this kind of leisure. Yeah I read. I used to read pocket books way back in High School. But mice! Next semester I'll be in the last year of my college life. I just can't read them because it's too childish (sorry to say this).
I got a new phone lately and since it's an android phone it has a lot of features. Include Ebook reader there.
Sent. A fellow just sent me Ebooks yeah!! blah blah blah blah... What am I doing? I just finished reading one Ebook "Some jokes are half meant". My gosh!
I gave in... it was tempting especially that it is the trend. But my curiosity did not kill me anyway.
This time I read them the mature way (hahahaha defensive). Seriously, I don't giggle in one corner. I don't fascinate like I'm the "bida" of the story. I critic. I do critic.
First, I screen the story, the flow, the ending, how conflict arises, how resolution happened. Next the character, their background, their attitude, their principles, their response to the situation, their emotions, their maturity. Another is its connection to the new generation. Will it affect the young people? In what way?
Lastly, (hope I didn't forget something) the grammar, the choice of words, the lines.
I am not a superwoman, nor a perfect writer, nor a grammarian, nor whatever you're thinking. I'm definitely not the most intelligent lady in class. But I do these things because this is how I learn well. I become productive when I do criticizing (constructive). Ask my closest friends they'll agree with what I'm saying.
YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH !
