Rain: Falls and Stops

The rain falls. There are thunder and lightning. But which comes first? Three o'clock and the rain hasn't stopped. The wind is fury I bet. It was telling me it's in a race. What is it running after? Then the thundering grows louder and louder. The unlovable dog pushes herself under the hard sofa. I closed the glass window. Why fear? The night creeps earlier. No hiding from the dark. The light is fading, isn't it? Walking to and fro the dim and narrow living room and seeing nothing but silhouettes of decades owned horse figurines atop a furniture. Is it like the glass menagerie? I looked outside and saw how the green plants danced for joy. Their hands extending wide to receive such little blessing. Do they drink or do they bathe? A huge truck moves slowly, careful of the slippery road. It passed calmly I did not notice it vanished. Was it the rain that hurdles my vision of the truck? Two school girls in one huge umbrella. Shoes stepping on the ankle hi...

I and Usual Mornings

3:07 "Bababa babananana bababa babanana..." It was loud enough to wake me up. Of course, I put my phone under my pillow and set it on full volume. I jumped off my bed, paused for a quiet time, said a prayer, and headed to the bathroom. 3:17 Because I live in a typical house, I got no shower. I was staring at that pail of water. I touched the water. Man! That was cold! Again, I live in a typical house I got no heater. I went back to my room and put on clothes. A navy blue polo shirt - ironed, faded black jeans, dark green sandals, and silver watch. I picked up my black sling bag with stuff I prepared last night. 3:52 I sat next to the dining table and prepared myself a coffee and a piece of bread with margarine sometimes cheese or mayo. These I think are enough for a day's routine. I went out from the house and started walking until I would reach the next street.  4:11 I was the only one walking on the road. I can only hear kroo-kroos, twit-tw...

Panamilit

* out of boredom I made this poem for a friend who had a hard time dealing with goodbyes (evil laugh) but it turned out that I'm making this for myself ^_^

Bittersweet Good-bye

Why goodbyes are painful? Every time I hear of goodbyes I feel a sudden numbness. I cannot move. There is always this feeling of loneliness. Some call it separation anxiety (sepanx) I call it parting forever (pafore).  I must admit that I easily get attached with kind and unique people. When you get along with me and we'll spend quality time together then I'd easily open up myself to you.  It was on a Sunday when this certain person we call Ate Claire told us that she'll be leaving for UAE. :'( I was really very shocked. Weeks before, we were just planning for her church wedding next year. They just had their prenup and she already had almost every detail for the d-day planned out. I too had to prepare because she wanted me to be the emcee  at the wedding reception.  We even joked about our gift for Ate Claire on her wedding day. We'll be looking for a huge arinola  hahahaha She doesn't like it. She would rant on us and tell us that she can't imagi...

Workmates, Do You Have Them?

Of the many personalities that differentiate one person to the other, there are few that stand out and that leave a trademark in every place of this planet. The most common place to spot these personalities is the workplace. Whether you are assigned at the production area, at the admin office, or at the utility force, you surely can distinguish dominant characters. Let’s try to list them down. The Feeling Boss He considers himself next to the boss. He can be the secretary or the assistant. He might have the right to act like a boss but he overly displays his authority that people around him are suffocating. Deadlines? He can make you work like hell to hit it. Just like the role of the vice president, the feeling boss waits until the boss dies so he can take the place. Krusty Krab Fan He can be your ordinary work mate, I mean your fellow cube mate. He is neither a friend nor a foe because he is driven and motivated by selfish intentions that he is willing to push and...

I volunteered and I felt selfless

Whenever I feel consumed of my daily responsibilities, I complain and grumble over it and wish it all ends. And I promised to myself that if I find time, I’ll surely escape from the city unwind beneath the forest, or at the mountain peak, or at a yacht in the middle of the sea.  That was on a Sunday, February 22, 2015, I marked it red. It surely is an important activity. Looking at my schedule organizer it read, Books in Bags 2pm at One Pavillion Mall. Oh yes, I remembered. I and my friends were invited by Ms Lorna Eguia to volunteer in a Story and Play activity for the orphans of Sunshine Ministry. It’s been a long time since I spent time in sharing my stocked up knowledge. Unlike my friends, never was I fond of kids. My temper can’t sustain their restiveness. So never there was a time that I considered volunteering for the Kids Ministry in our church. When we got there, I saw these kids running around and messing things up, and I sighed, “Lord stretch my patienc...
