All Those Firsts in October

FIRST INTERNATIONAL EXHIBIT Mariano Fortuny. Well, honestly I didn't know him. So when I got a free ticket to see his exhibit, I took time to research about him. New Sanctuary

New sanctuary Once there was a little bird whose freedom is robbed of, By those hands as heavy as a velvet glove, They clipped her tiny wings, Wound and scar it brings. Little bird beaten beneath, She's dying spitting shame on earth, Oh! Their hands are like steel, Didn’t wanna stop to kill. Then Mr. sun one day smiles, Perhaps he heard the little bird’s million cries, “My friend look up and face the world, It promised you won’t be hurled. And just in a blink of an eye, The little bird heard “Hi!”, Startled, surprised, stunned, The little bird rose from the ground. A thousand miles it has reached, Far from the velvet gloves could stretch, The little bird with tears like a stream, Couldn’t believe what it has seen.  💓💓💓 *Wrote this for our Developmental Reading class two years ago.
